Casey Burns was born in 1975 in Hendersonville, N.C. He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1993 to 1998, receiving a degree in journalism. During these years, he began to be involved in the independent rock music scene in Chapel Hill as a poster artist and musician.
